Your everyday finances

Drag to record a transaction

Drag an icon between sections of the Summary screen. Fevault selects an expense, income or transfer based on where you drop it.

Keep going offline

View previously loaded data and record new transactions. Fevault sends them when your server is reachable again.

Widgets and Control Center

Check your balance and run expense templates from a Home Screen widget. The Control Center button opens Summary to add a transaction.

Compare spending by category, account and day, with a view of how this month compares with your six-month average.

Common questions

What is Firefly III?

Firefly III is a free, self-hosted personal finance manager. Fevault is a native iOS client for people who already run one.

Do I need my own server?

Yes. Fevault connects to your Firefly III server. We do not provide a server for storing your financial data.

What is included in Fevault Pro?

Free: transaction entry, accounts, budgets and analytics.

Fevault Pro: multiple server profiles, unlimited custom icons and more templates in medium and large widgets. A one-time purchase through Apple, with no subscription.

Where is my data stored?

Your finance data stays on your Firefly III server and on your device. Connection secrets are kept in the iOS Keychain. See the Privacy Policy.

What iOS version is required?

Fevault requires iOS 17 or later on iPhone, or iPadOS 17 or later on iPad. The Control Center button requires iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 or later.

Does it work on a local network?

Yes. Fevault connects to any reachable Firefly III address: on your local network, through a VPN, or at a public internet address.

Can I record transactions in Fevault?

Yes. Record expenses, income and transfers, and add accounts, categories and reusable templates directly in the app.

What can I do without a server connection?

You can view previously loaded data and record new transactions. Fevault keeps new transactions in a queue for sending when it can reach your server again. Creating accounts and budgets requires a server connection.

Firefly III has other mobile clients. What is different here?

Fevault combines drag-to-record transactions, offline entry and iOS widgets. It also offers a Control Center button and app locking with PIN and Face ID.

Can I try Fevault without setting up a server?

Yes. Choose the demo when setting up the app to explore the summary, transactions and analytics with sample data. Connect your own Firefly III server to use your accounts.

How do I move my Fevault settings to another device?

Export a backup and import it on the other device. It includes profiles, settings, templates and custom icons, but not your Firefly III database or access tokens. You will need to sign in to your server again. Set a password to encrypt the backup; without one, the file is unencrypted.

Connect to Firefly III

  1. Install the app

    Fevault runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later.

  2. Point it at your server

    Paste your Firefly III address and a personal access token. OAuth and proxy profiles work too.

  3. That is it

    Your accounts, transactions and budgets load from the server.
